Norman Rockwell and us

This blog is kind of moot this week as the childrental units know first hand what is happening with the parental units, having had lots of quality time together the past few days.

However, I am posting a photo of this Norman Rockwell moment for everyone's enjoyment.

And this one: Attacking the turkey with a chain saw ...

Another Norman Rockwell moment:

Nice to come home to

I found this note on the kitchen table when I got home at 9:30pm last Thursday night:

Together with this:

The bun and mousse made an excellent supper. Much better than the bean, vinegar, and tofu salad that I originally had in mind.

I'm starting to get concerned about the anti-psychotic ...

I'm starting to get concerned that I am taking my preference for decorating with a pharmecutical motif, in particular a specific anti-psychotic, too far.

I hope this doesn't end up becoming a problem for which I will need to be treated with mediciation.

I've moved!

Barry moved out, Mike had first dibs but passed, so I moved into Barry's previous space. Definitely a move up!

The two best things - I don't get the sun blasting in my eyes in the afternoon anymore, and more room for my plants.

The old space:

The new space (across from old space):

Some redecorating. I'm keeping with the general pharmaceutical theme here. This diplay was sponsered by a famous anti-psychotic. I think tissues are much better to give a psychotic than a stapler, don't you? Both great for the color scheme, though.
The view from the outside, just to be thorough.

And finally, redecorating outside:

Actually, normally when you work on the 2nd floor, you don't expect to see something bigger than a bird or squirrel moving around outside your window, out of the corner of your eye. However, once I realized I wasn't having a psychotic episode (for which I would have been well prepared with tissues and a stapler), it was a good few minutes worth of entertainment. And a welcome change from the usual car crash.

Geni

I love Geni. My kids don't forget my birthday anymore!

But sometimes I get incomprehensible messages from them. For example ...

From Geni: Shui Haber is your second cousin twice removed's husband's third great nephew.

Shui, I'm really glad we are related. Just don't ask me to explain how.

In other news, the most exciting thing that happened at work this week was looking out my window:

LL Bean and Silly Hats

Selig's family lives less than 1 1/2 miles from LL Bean!!!!

So not only did I get to see some of my favorite cousins and aunt today,

and get to see Rachel in a silly hat !!!!!

and meet Lynn and Jacie, and various assorted family, friend, and other,

I went to LL Bean!!!!!

Great fall foliage on the way down too.

All in all, an excellent afternoon.

End Of The Road signs

I love these road signs:

Here are two views of the same sign, one from a distance, the other a closer look. The left lane MUST turn left. If you are in the right lane however, feel free to smash into the gravel piles or storm the fence. Or turn right, take out the fire hydrant, do some bushwacking, and head into the river. (Entin Road, Parsippany, NJ)

Another good one:

Driving Instructions for what to do when approaching a stop sign:
- Come to a complete stop behind the stop sign.
- Check traffic thoroughly in all directions.
- Yield to pedestrians or other vehicles
- Proceed carefully …

Directly into Lake Ontario and continue on to Canada( you will end up somewhere between Toronto and Kingston). (Chimney Bluffs State Park, NY)
