1,851 miles, 30 hours 36 min driving time, 3 ½ days. Whew!
Most of the drive was on Route 70. From just past
Harrisburg, PA all the way to Denver.
Last night was at a KOA campground in Goodland, Kansas. Very
windy drive yesterday. Tumbleweeds were flying across the highway.
We saw a lot of these birds near the campground. I’d never seen them before. I googled “Black bird with yellow head” to find out what they are called. And guess what? Someone with a lot of imagination named them “Yellow Headed Blackbirds.”
First stop in Denver was High Point Creamery for lunch.
Thanks to Eli for the recommendation.
We ordered a tasting “flight”: Basil with Blackberry Swirl,
Moon Pie, Mint Chocolate Bark, Salted Caramel, Zucchini Bread with a hot fudge
sauce. Need I say the other flavors were unusual also?
We are camping in someone from EDOS shul’s driveway. This is
the first shabbos the shul is allowing outside guests. And they end up with us!
Better luck next time guys!
Denver is very cool. Literally.
