No sign is up is the usual place on Rt 1 S by Roosevelt Park, so I thought that there would not be Plays in the Park this summer, given the current economic situation.
Fortunately, I looked into the matter further, and found that, yes, the Show Will Go On.
A highlight of the summer season is to be a production of Singin' In The Rain.
I have copied this text from the plays in the park website:
SINGIN ’IN THE RAIN, the most famous and beloved movie musical of all time, has been faithfully and lovingly adapted for the stage from the original award-winning screenplay. Each unforgettable scene, song and dance is accounted for, including the show-stopping title number – complete with a live on stage rain storm!
Imagine that! A Live On Stage Rain Storm!
Very appropriate chice of play, given the weather we've been having. I hope that they economized on the rain special effect by just leaving the roof off the stage.
