We spent Shabbos at Stoney Creek Resort & Campground in Greenfield, VA. Not as nice as it sounds. Think Deliverance, but not quite that bad.
Temperatures dipped below freezing overnight and not much
above during the day.
After Shabbos, we checked the forecast and saw that overnight
temps in the area on Tuesday were going as low as 17 degrees. We needed a change in plans. Didn’t want our pipes to freeze.
Decided regretfully to skip the Blue Ridge Parkway, Asheville
TN, and the Smokies, and head south.
On Sunday drove from Greenfield, VA to Greenfield, SC. From
winter back to fall. An increase in
temps of about 10 degrees. Sunset 20
minutes later (we drove south-west).
Welcome to North Carolina!
Welcome to South Carolina!
Welcome to Georgia!
Back to Fall!
Now we are in Stone Mountain Campground in Atlanta, Georgia.
Got here yesterday. Fall foliage is at peak. Absolutely gorgeous!
